It's been awhile since we've updated our newsletter; so here's a general summary of what's gone on in our club since the end of May.

Most of our meetings have involved discussions concerning our Poker Run & Family Fest that will be held at Petersen Park on Saturday, August 20th.  Participants can buy poker hands for $10 each through our website or on the day of the event.  Cars will start leaving the park for the poker run at 9 a.m. and will stop at five predetermined locations to pick cards for their hand(s).  Cars will return to the park after the run to turn in their hands and enjoy the festival activities for the rest of the afternoon.  Food and games will be available for adults and kids.  Club members need to sign up for time slots to work that day so we know we have adequate coverage.  Please check your e-mail for sign-up instructions.

In July, we bid adieu to our 2010-2011 officers and welcomed our 2011-2012 officers.  President Shelly Casella-Dercole has scheduled a variety of visits to local businesses and organizations along with other speakers for our meetings this Rotary year.  So far, we've had a tour of the Library and Station 1 of the McHenry Township Fire Protection District.

Starting in September, our main meeting location will change from the MCC Shah Center to the McHenry Public Library.  Since the library is not open at the time of our meeting, club members and visitors will need to enter through the door near the rear of the building on the north side.

We're planning a multi-club event for Saturday, September 24th, to be held at Richardson's Farm in Spring Grove from 1 - 5 p.m.  Please save the date - more details will follow soon.

Our next meeting will be Wednesday, August 17th, at the MCC Shah Center.
